The 4th Graders worked hard to earn money at home by doing extra chores and projects. They earned $1487.25, which they then spent on supplies at Target. The supplies (musical instruments, art materials, strollers, shopping carts, play food, dolls, dress-up clothes, a couch, books, and much more) are for the new 4-5 year old classroom at the new Catholic Charities facility in the South Valley.
6th grade students from Annunciation Catholic School (ACS) traveled to Washington D.C. in February, during Engineers Week, to represent the New Mexico Region in the Future City Finals Competition. The Finals included 37 US regional winners, 2 Canadian teams, 3 Chinese teams and a team from Egypt. Last year Annunciation’s 8th Grade Future City Team represented New Mexico at the Future City Finals as well.
Thank you to our 1st grade students who bagged 117 bags of beans and 133 bags of rice to help us serve the hungry in our community. Thank you to our 1st grade teachers (Mrs. Olivas & Mrs. Coyle), 1st grade families and Catholic Charities for your support!
Thank you for ALL your support for the 7th Grade Project Give Bake Sale. They made $737.00, that will be used to adopt students currently enrolled at the Catholic Charities Childrens Learning Center. ACS 7th graders will purchase and deliver warm clothes to these students before Christmas. Also, CONGRATULATIONS to Ashton Bischoff & Luke Sanchez. They won the t-shirt decorating contest for the Project Give Shirt.
If you're interested in CPK gift cards for the holidays, or plan to dine there with your family in the future, stop by Uptown this week, November 1-6, and 20% of the gift card amount will be donated to ACS.
Congratulations to Annunciation tennis players! Our Yellow #1 team won first place in the Yellow ball Mix & Match division by beating teams from Albuquerque, Las Cruces, and Santa Fe. They also had an undefeated season! Our Yellow #2 team won the consolation bracket in the Yellow ball Mix & Match division. They played amazingly well in a tough division and beat a Las Cruces team to win the bracket final (with two tiebreakers). Our Green team earned third place in an even larger Green ball Mix & Match division. They won both matches on Saturday and just barely lost in the semifinals on Sunday. Most impressively, all of our players exhibited great sportsmanship and represented our school and faith well.
Congratulations to the following teams for winning the APIAL championship games! Soccer C1 (6th Grade) Volleyball JV (7th Grade) Volleyball Go Vikings!
