Go out and get your May copy of Albuquerque the Magazine to see the ACS profile - Leaders in Education! Thank you to all our teachers, staff, administrators, parents, alumni, parish family and students for making ACS a great place to be!
Our JrK and Kindergarten students and teachers are proud to announce that they raised $2,204.45 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Their HOPS & your donations will support many families in New Mexico. Thank you!
The Annunciation fourth graders brainstormed odd jobs they could do at home or for neighbors, relatives, and family friends, then did those jobs and earned money. They brought the money to school and the parents drove them on a field trip to Target where they purchased household supplies. Their purchases will be donated through Catholic Charities to local families in need, many of whom are refugees who have recently arrived in the area as well as some homeless families.
The WCEA visitation team spent 3 days at ACS. They spent 3 days observing classrooms, interviewing teachers, students and parents. They looked over documents, lesson plans, student work and student data.
ACS 5th Grade raised approximately $8,600.00 for St. Jude Children's Hospital! St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
The winning team, along with other two teams from Annunciation School, won top three places at New Mexico Future City Competition held on January 16 at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History.
Thank you to our Annunciation supporters for making our first Family Fun Night in 2016 a huge success. We kept the staff at Tomato Cafe on their toes with a steady stream of families and friends all night. From the owner, "The families were wonderful with great energy!"
Our 4th graders held a Rummage Sale to raise funds for Casa Angelica. By choosing items of their own to sell to other students at discounted prices they were able to raise $786.08. What a creative way to reuse, recycle and raise money for Casa Angelica. Way to go 4th grade!
We have a new recycling dumpster. Each classroom should have a recycling bin (or two!) in their room. As the buns get full the 4th grade students are going to each classroom for collection.
Thank You EVERYONE who attended our "Sold Out" 7th Annual Fall Benefit, Black Tie & Blue Jean Affair. It was an evening full of friends, fun and ACS support. We are so excited to report that we raised just over $30,000* to benefit our new Multimedia Center (Learning Commons) library redesign.
